Drawing Do’s and Don’ts

Don’ts:
• NSFW/18+ (especially sexualization of minors)
• Excessive gore & violence
• Offensive themes regarding sex, race, politics, and religion
• Mecha
• Furry
• AI-generated works

Do’s:
• Original designs/Characters
• Feminine, Masculine, and Androgynous characters
• Fan-art

Main Agreement

General:
• All communications should be done under Draowl Academy contacts, not individual artists.
• Draowl Academy reserves the right to deny any request deemed offensive or inappropriate. Please see our do’s and don’ts.
• Draowl Academy may decline an order if the project/character is deemed something we cannot deliver.
• Draowl Academy only delivers digital files. No physical item will be shipped to your home address.
• Clear and detailed visual references are highly recommended for higher accuracy.
• Ill-mannered behavior will not be tolerated towards our staff, including verbal threats and derogatory comments.
The first occurrence will incur a verbal/written warning.
Upon second occurrence, ongoing commissions will be immediately canceled.

Payments, Refunds, Cancellations:
• All prices are listed in USD (United States Dollars).
• Draowl Academy reserves the right to choose between the following payment plans:
The commission will be started after a 100% upfront payment has been made.
The commission will be started after a 50% upfront payment, and the remaining 50% will be paid at the end of the commission before the final files are delivered.
• Draowl Academy only accepts payment through PayPal.
• Payment must be made before work starts.
• Commissions that have not been started within 30 business days of completed payment may be refunded.
• No refund once the work has been started.
• For commercial use, an additional 50% of the total commission fee will be charged.

Workflow and Delivery (Commission Process):
• Active communication should be maintained between the art studio and the Client.
If Draowl Academy fails to receive a reply from the Client within 14 business days, the commission will be terminated.
If the Client fails to receive a reply within 14 business days from Draowl Academy, the commission will be terminated and refunded.
• Changing references is only allowed if we haven’t started on your commission. Please contact us through the appropriate channels to make the changes.
• The Client is entitled to edits during the sketch stage.
• After the sketch, the Client is entitled to 5 free major edits and unlimited changes to minor or missing details.
Major edits include changes to composition and pose.
Minor edits include color adjustments, small detail changes, and background modifications.
• The maximum deadline is 6 months.
• For Clients wishing to avail of a rush commission, the fee is 30% of the total commission fee.
• Once 100% of the payment has been made, the final artwork will be sent to the Client in previously agreed-upon format(s) (eg. PNG). Draowl Academy does not share .psd files.

Use and Credit:
• Draowl Academy retains the rights to artist credits and publishes the process and final art as part of their portfolio and socials.
• The Client owns the right to use the commission for purposes outlined in this agreement (personal use or commercial use, depending on the chosen plan).
• The Client’s right for commercial use includes:
Print into physical form for merchandise selling
Monetization on social platforms, such as Patreon
• If the Client wants to keep the art hidden until a certain time, please let us know when we can publish your art for our portfolio.
If you wish to avail of an Non-disclosure Agreement (NDA), Draowl Academy will charge 20% of the total commission fee. We will not publish the work anywhere until you choose to change our agreement.
• Upon the issuance of final payment, ownership rights shall be transferred to the Client.
• The following is considered an infringement on the use and credit of Draowl Academy commissions:
Reproducing/using the copyrighted artwork for commercial use without written consent from the Draowl Academy.
Taking credit for the creation of the artwork.
Removing any watermarks/signatures.
Altering the artwork without Draowl Academy’s consent.
